A fun way to make spice up the simple dinner rolls. You can use any dinner roll dough. Here is my favorite, which is a mix of Semolina and All Purpose Flour.
For Dough:
- Fine Semolina : 350 g.
- All Purpose Flour : 150 g.
- Milk : 150 g.
- Water : 100 g.
- Honey : 40 g.
- Butter : 40 g.
- Yeast : 7 g.
- Salt : 10 g.
Filling:
- Butter : 40 g.
- Finely minced garlic : 1 teaspoon.
- Grated Cheddar : 50 g
- Chopped Spring Onions.
- Seasoning and Chilly Flakes.
This dough contains semolina so its highly recommended that you mix all the ingredients and leave them for at least 20 mins. Knead it till its able to clear the window pane test. Let it rest for an hour or so. It would almost double in size.
Roll it into a thin rectangle. Combine the soft butter and garlic. Spread it on the dough. Sprinkle the cheese, spring onions and seasoning. Roll it into a log and cut into equal sized rings.
Put them in a buttered baking dish. Let it rest for about 30-40 mins.
Apply either milk or an egg wash. Egg wash will give a shinier finish. Bake in an oven at 180C for about 35-40 minutes.
Enjoy.
