Pickled Onions

The simplest way to enrich your sandwiches, grilled proteins and salads better. These are the best example of adding in great texture with notes of sweet, salt and sour.

  • One large onion, sliced thin.
  • Some garlic pods.
  • Some peppercorns.
  • A glass jar.
  • Vinegar, a lil more than a quarter of the glass jar.
  • A tablespoon of sugar.
  • Salt.
  • Water.

Pour vinegar, salt and sugar into the glass jar. Stir to dissolve the sugar and keep aside.

Put the onions in a large bowl. Pour boiling hot water on them and let it rest for a full minute. Drain the onions and put them into the glass jar.

Top it with garlic pods, pepper and water. Taste and adjust the salt as per your preference.

When the onions have cooled off, close the bottle and keep it in the fridge. You can use the onions after just an hour. But they taste best if left alone for a least 2 days.

Use as a topping or a filling.

Enjoy.
