Doughnuts : Treat it UP!

Been missing these treats for a long time….

  • All Purpose Flour : 500 grams and a little more depending on weather and alignment of stars.
  • Milk : 250 ml.
  • 2 Whole Eggs.
  • 1 tsp of Yeast.
  • 10 grams of Salt.
  • 80 grams Butter.
  • 70 grams Sugar.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essesnce
  • Nutmeg powder.
  • Oil for frying.

Combine all the ingredients except the oil. Knead into a soft dough and let it rest till its doubled in size. This will take around 60 to 90 minutes.

Its best if everything is at room temperature.

After the first rise, punch out the air and roll into a 1/2 inch thick layer. Use a cookie cutter to doughnuts with a 3 inch diameter.

Fry in oil. Do it in batches. These cook really fast so pay a lot of attention so that they don’t end up burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.

This dough gave me around 25 doughnuts and 25 balls. No idea on the exact count because….hungry family.

Enjoy.
