Fish with Pounded Spices

The best way to improve your cooking is to invest a lil time into your tools. Go old school and get a mortar-pestle.

You Need:

  • Seer Fish slices.
  • Finely diced onion.
  • Lots of garlic.
  • Green chilies.
  • Some fennel seeds.
  • Some Cumin seeds.
  • Chopped tomatoes.
  • Mustard oil.

Pound together the garlic, green chilies, fennel and cumin. Taste it and balance it. This is the driving flavor behind your dish so what you taste now, is what you will enjoy later.

Saute the onion in mustard oil till the raw smell has gone. Add the pounded paste. Cook on low heat till there is no rawness in it and it develops a little color. Add the tomatoes. When they have softened add some water and bring to a boil. Keep the fish and cook covered for about 7-8 minutes.

Open and cook on high heat to reduce the consistency of the sauce.

Enjoy.
