Steamed Chicken

This will not win any prizes for presentation but its super simple and very healthy.

You Need:

  • Boneless Chicken, preferably thighs.
  • Beaten Yogurt, half a cup.
  • Cumin Powder, a teaspoon.
  • Red Chilly Flakes as per your taste.
  • Salt as per taste.

I have a very simple kitchen so I made hacked up a steamer. Take a large pan with a lid. Invert a small steel plate in it. Place a ceramic baking dish on top. Close the lid.

If there is enough space, then you are set.

Combine all the ingredients and keep them in the ceramic dish. Warp the dish in aluminum foil. Make a tiny incision on a corner so that there is no pressure buildup and resultant ballooning.

Fill water in the pan but it should not touch the ceramic dish.

Get water to a boil and then let it simmer for about 30 minutes. Since the thighs are more fatty than the breast, they risk of overcooking is substantially reduced.

Do keep a watch on the water level. It should not dry up as then the pan may get damaged.

Enjoy.
