A simple chicken recipe for newbie cooks. But its something even regular home cooks will like.
You Need:
- About 1/2 kilo of chicken. Preferably cut into large pieces.
- 100 grams of curd.
- Red chilly powder.
- Turmeric powder.
- Garam masala.
- Ginger Garlic Paste.
- A few cloves of garlic.
- Kasuri Methi about a tablespoon.
In a large dish, whip the curd. Then add some chilly powder and salt to it. Taste it. Its spice level should be at something you are comfortable with. Then mix in garam masala and turmeric. Taste it again. It should be comfortable to taste.
Exercise caution in the amount of spice you have added. It should be good but not something you are unable to consume.
Now into this curd based masala, add in a teaspoon of ginger garlic paste and chicken. Mix well. Do not taste this after mixing in the raw chicken.
Heat some oil in a pan. Fry some whole garlic pods in it. Then just they turn slightly dark, add in the chicken. Cook on high for about 5 minutes. Stir it up. Cook covered on low heat for about 10 mins. Open and increase the heat to high. Sprinkle half the kasuri methi. Mix well. Spread out the chicken. Reduce the heat and cook covered for about 10 minutes.
Open. Split one of the larger pieces to check if its cooked.
Back to High flame. Sprinkle remaining kasuri methi. Keep stirring till the consistency is how you want it to be.
Enjoy.
