Turnip Au Gratin

This is an incredibly simple and very low carb and healthy recipe. Do note that Turnips (Hindi name is Shalgam) have a distinct flavor profile and there is no middle ground. You either love it or you have no sense of taste.

You need:

  • About half a kilo of finely grated turnips. Squeeze out as much water as possible.
  • A tablespoon of butter.
  • Any good quality Cheese.
  • Lots of coarsely ground black pepper.

Placee parchment paper over a baking tray. Smear butter over parchment paper. Spread out the grated turnips. Shape it into a rectangle taking care to maintain an even thickness. Grate cheese over the Turnips. There is no limit to how much cheese you want. Sprinkle pepper over the cheese.

Preheated oven. 190C for 30 minutes. Let it rest inside the oven for another 10 mins.

Pair it with any healthy condiment of your choice.
